The neuroscience-based digital therapeutics (DTx) startup Bell Therapeutics announced on the 23rd that it has signed an agreement with the Cochlear Implant Center at Seoul National University Hospital to supply a hearing rehabilitation application (app).

This project is expected to significantly alleviate the challenges faced by cochlear implant patients and their caregivers during the rehabilitation process. Hearing rehabilitation is crucial, especially for pediatric patients, as it plays a vital role in their lifelong auditory and language abilities. Providing a rich auditory experience during childhood is essential, but the need for frequent visits to rehabilitation centers has posed an inconvenience for young cochlear implant patients and their caregivers.

To help pediatric cochlear implant patients experience a rich auditory world and develop hearing and language skills, Bell Therapeutics has developed a hearing rehabilitation program with music therapy content. This project, as a testbed initiative, will provide the program to select patients at the Cochlear Implant Center of Seoul National University Hospital, which will cover the associated costs.

Professor Sang-Yeon Lee from the Department of Otolaryngology at Seoul National University Hospital stated, “This initiative is part of our efforts to provide practical assistance to pediatric cochlear implant patients.” Jae-eun Lee, CEO of Bell Therapeutics, expressed his pleasure, noting, "It is immensely gratifying that the hearing rehabilitation app can serve as a useful tool in Seoul National University Hospital’s clinical setting."
